The India Energy Week is taking place from February 6-8 and its aim is to highlight India’s growing reputation as a leader in energy transition. The event brings together people from the energy industry, government, and academia to talk about the challenges and opportunities that come with a responsible shift to sustainable energy.

As part of the Ethanol Blended Petrol initiative, Prime Minister Modi will launch a new fuel called E20, which is a blend of 20% ethanol and 80% petrol. The government’s goal is to reach a 20% ethanol blend by 2025, and oil marketing companies are setting up plants to make this happen.

Prime Minister Modi will also kick off a Green Mobility Rally, where vehicles powered by green energy sources will take part and raise public awareness about alternative fuels. Additionally, he will launch uniforms made from recycled polyester and cotton under Indian Oil’s “Unbottled” initiative. This brand is dedicated to producing sustainable garments using recycled materials.

Another highlight of the event will be the launch of a twin cooktop model of Indian Oil’s indoor solar cooking system for commercial use. This system, designed and patented by Indian Oil, can work with both solar energy and auxiliary energy sources. The government has allocated 35,000 crore Rupees in the 2023 Union Budget to support the smooth supply of green energy.
